Pirate investingS&P recently downgraded the debt of several major European nations. Is this the start of the SHTF in 2012? It’s hard to imagine that the massive unfunded liabilities of governments around the world will ever be repaid, in real terms.

What do you think? Are the ratings agencies screwing things up, or is the truth that… the holders of these debt instruments will eventually get left holding a bag of well…. something that is not worth what they expected.

    Glad you enjoyed our blackout page! We’re not naive enough to think that we led to the bills being shelved, but if we made a couple of people think, it was worth it.

    As the Megaupload shutdown showed the next day… what do we need SOPA and PIPA for?

    I’m a proponent of the downgrades and hope the agencies continue to do so until there is a clear path to fiscal solvency – both in the EU and the US.
