Happy New Year!

It’s now 2012, a new year with promises of change and technological progress; it’s also a year of potential upheaval and future turmoil. We’ve seen the beginnings of real popular unrest with the birth of the “Occupy Wall Street” movement, as well as the Arab Spring and popular protests in Europe and in China. We’ve seen nations grow increasingly indebted, yet, the world continues to turn and progress continues to be made.

This is also a pivotal year for the U.S.; does the populace have the will to elect a candidate with the honesty, integrity and courage of Ron Paul? Or, will we continue to have more of the same?

These are questions of vital importance. We cannot stand on the sidelines, but must engage in the battle of ideas in any way that we can. Our futures depend on it.

    Happy New Year, FG.
I’m thinking 50/50 on Ron Paul vs. more of the same.

The alternatives are pretty unpalatable to me, but I’m hoping that Ron Paul is able to instill the seeds of change. He has made amazing progress in spreading good ideas.

Happy new year to you, FG! Should be an interesting political year here in the U.S….not that any year is dull, but this one promises to be quite compelling.

Agreed, Squirrelers! I was never very interested in politics in the past until the 2008 elections, and this one promises to be more interesting!

Happy New Year FG! Indeed a pivotal year! Election years are usually good for the stock market, let’s hope 2012 doesn’t buck the trend!

Thanks Moneycone! I wouldn’t mind picking up cheap stocks for the longer term actually! ;)
